Nearly 140 children attend Changing of the Guard on Palace Square

There was an unprecedented gathering on Place du Palais on Sunday 7 May, as nearly 140 children got the chance to attend the Changing of the Guard at precisely 11.55 am.

The Louis Carlésimo Association, which supports sick children and their families through fun events as they battle their illnesses, brought around 40 children to experience this highlight of the Palace Guards’ everyday activities.

By chance, *Les Képis Pascalunes*, an association that supports orphans and widows of members of the French National Gendarmerie, was also present with a large group of children. The association was hosting nearly a hundred children, aged between 6 and 14 years old, for the weekend in Fréjus and then in Monaco, as part of the “*Du Bleu Dans Les Yeux*” (“Blue in Their Eyes”) charity project.
After the Changing of the Guard ceremony, the young visitors had an opportunity to chat to the Palace Guards, and the morning concluded with photographs in front of the Prince’s Palace.
