What better illustration of Jean Ray’s quote than the astonishing discovery that occurred during the fresco restoration at the Prince’s Palace: a square of light… hiding other masterpieces older than those of the Italian Renaissance, but in fact dating back to the 13th century…

As of yet, it is a very small window into a still undeciphered past… A door that opens the imagination and makes the hearts of historians and restorers flutter…

Visits to the State Apartments are open from 30 March to 15 October 2026.
- March, April, May, June, September and October: open from 10am to 6pm.
July and August: open from 10am to 7pm.
Visits will be closed during the F1 Grand Prix weekend.

Cars and coaches: recommended parking at «Parking des Pêcheurs». Please note that vehicles registered outside of Monaco and the Alpes Maritimes (06) cannot access Le Rocher and Monaco-Ville.
Monaco Buses: Lines 1 and 2 - Place de la Visitation Stop.
On foot, 10 minutes from Place d’Armes via Rampe Major, 5 minutes from Place de la Visitation through the alleys of the Rock.

As the Palace is a Sovereign Residence, it may be closed to the public without prior notice.
